Role Overview

As an English Companion, you’ll play more than just the role of a teacher — you’ll be a mentor, guide, and conversation partner. Your focus will be on building learners’ confidence in using English in everyday and professional situations through personalized, engaging sessions that prioritize speaking, listening, and real-time interaction.

This role is ideal for someone who values connection, creativity, and the power of consistent language support.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct one-on-one or small-group English sessions tailored to the learner’s goals and interests
Focus on conversational fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary building, and real-world communication
Create a safe, encouraging environment where learners feel comfortable making mistakes and improving
Offer guidance in areas such as casual conversation, travel English, interview prep, public speaking, and more
Track learner progress and adapt your approach to keep lessons relevant and motivating
Use a variety of tools (video, text, real-life scenarios) to enrich the learning experience

What We’re Looking For

Fluency in English; native or near-native level preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification or equivalent experience in English teaching
A passion for helping learners grow through conversation and personalized attention
Patience, empathy, and a learner-centered approach
Flexible availability and comfort with online teaching platforms
